The Gala begins with a reception featuring easy listening music and a silent auction including spa packages, electronics, golf and more. Guests will then be treated to a delicious, formal dinner and wine, as emcee Channel 7's Anne Trujillo introduces us to four extraordinary finalists and announces the recipient of the 2008 ATHENA Award. The evening closes with an exciting live auction and celebratory music by the Hazel Miller Band, courtesy of Black Swan Talent. 2008 Finalists: - Sister Alicia Cuaron, Director of Bienstar Family Services at Centro San Juan Diego;
- Lisa Schomp, Owner/President of Ralph Schomp Automotive;
- Elbra Wedgeworth, Chief Government and Community Affairs Officer at Denver Health;
- Roxane White, Executive Director of the Timothy and Bernadette Marquez Foundation.
The Athena Award is given annually to the Denver woman who best exemplifies the following criteria: 1) exceptional professional achievement 2) devotion to community service and 3) generosity in actively assisting other women in their attainment of professional excellence and leadership skills.
