This half-day workshop examines the forces at play in high-stakes communication, the pitfalls and opportunities present and the skills you need to navigate these interactions. Debunk the myths of “managing up,” learn how respecting self, others and context, and adapting your communication accordingly, can help you achieve your goals.
In this workshop, you will become an adaptive communicator by learning how to:
-Read a situation and reframe it in a way that works for everyone
-Recognize different styles and are open to diversity
-Collaborate with flexibility
-Clarify expectations
-Practice reflective listening and appropriate non-verbal behavior
-Actively summarize
-Identify the other person’s needs and tailor information accordingly
-Regain the direction of the conversation
