You are invited to the DU Women’s Professional Alliance event,  “Women in Elected Office”. This panel presentation take place on October 10 from 6:30-8:00pm in Sturm Hall, Lindsay Auditorium (Room 281). We have confirmed five panelists to talk about their career paths, why they chose to run for office, lessons learned on the campaign trail, the challenges and benefits unique to women elected officials and their advice to other women considering running for public office. Linda Olson (PhD ’05), Mayor of Englewood, will moderate the panel featuring:

  • Marlo Alston, (BBA ’11), Centennial City Council
  • Crisanta Duran (BA ’02), Speaker of the Colorado House of Representatives
  • Anne Ingebretsen (BSBA ’81, MBA ’86), Greenwood Village City Council
  • Dominique Jackson (MA in progress), Colorado House of Representatives
  • Heidi Williams, Mayor, City of Thornton

This diverse panel represents constituents at all levels of local government. It offers a unique opportunity pre-election to hear from and ask questions to women who have succeeded in representing the people of Colorado.
