Member Profile: Pinnacol Assurance

Pinnacol Assurance is far from traditional when it comes to taking care of their 500+ employees. Everyone at Pinnacol feels that their voice matters. Pinnacol’s unique benefits, its internal equity assessments, and leadership development programs all promote an inclusive culture where talent is rewarded and retained. They proudly took home the “Innovation Award” at the inaugural CWCC Champions of Change event in 2018. We connected with Sheila O’Donoghue, Corporate Partnership Coordinator to learn more about what drives the company to stay involved.

Why did your business join the Chamber? How long have you been a member?
We’ve operated in Colorado for more than 100 years and our mission is to start a revolution in caring for people, businesses, and communities across the state. We feel strongly that supporting chambers like the CWCC that provides resources to female workers in Colorado will improve our economy, shore up our workforce, and help us fulfill our mission. The revolution in caring begins with generous, authentic care for all employees in Colorado, male and female alike.

What has been the most beneficial part of being involved with the CWCC?
CWCC has built an exceptional, unique community and our Pinnacol team members are enriched by the events and networking opportunities CWCC facilitates.

How do women inspire you?
Pinnacol has strong history of female representation and advancement in all levels of the organization and we see the benefits daily. Women reach out to support other women professionally through formal and informal mentoring and provide needed perspective in everything we do. We are in the business of people and caring and we’re able to deliver that in part because of female representation within our organization.
